Seen and Heard (planets and breathing)

Just arrived in San Marcos, TX at restaurant meeting family--goes something like this:

Bud says "Are we still on Earth?"

Me: Yes, we are still in TX, too.

Bud: Did you know Jupiter has a constellation storm?"

I think he was talking about the storm in the 'red spot'....but, boy the things he was thinking about---too cool!

Bud: You can't breathe if you put food up your nose!

hahahaha;)

Missouri the Turtle and Streaky the Stunk

After reading two stories from the Phoebe Dunn Collection, I asked Bud and Sissy what animal they would like as a pet.  Bud answered: I want a turtle and I'd name him Missouri.  Sissy said she wanted a stunk (skunk) and would name him Streaky. 

Too cute!  

Meal Plan Monday (for the week of November 22nd)

This will be an interesting week since we'll go over to visit family for Thanksgiving and then also have family over on the weekend....hmmm...so not sure how much I'll actually cook

Monday: Roasted chicken, broccoli cheese rice casserole

Tuesday: chili with cornbread


Wednesday: Pizza and prepare stuffing for the next day

Thursday: Thanksgivng!!

Friday: Turkey flautas (using leftovers) with spanish rice and refried beans

Saturday: Fried rice with egg rolls---using ham and turkey leftovers

Sunday: out to eat with family;)

Nothing new this week...just great standards around here...looking forward to a big bowl a chili this weekend;)

M - Baked Penne Pasta with sweet italian chicken sausage, wheat french bread, green beans

T - Frijoles ala charra (bean soup in a crockpot) with cornbread, fruit

W - dinner at church

Th - shepherd's pie

F - Pizza, carrot sticks, fruit

Saturday - Tostadas, spanish rice w/peas and carrots

Sunday - Chili w/ baked potatoes, fruit

Seen and Heard (Troubles)

I posted about some of the funny ahem sweet things my kiddos are thankful for here: seen and heard about Thanksgiving

I also heard this from my oldest today:

Bud: "Some people have troubles"

me: "Troubles with what?"

Bud: "Troubles with remembering their planets--yeah, that's what Steve from Blue's Clue's said" "That's why they have me..I know my planets"

- BBQ sandwiches, corn on the cob, baked potatoes (beef made ahead)

Seen and Heard (macaroni)

Yesterday, Bud was coloring with some of the crayons that come in the 'big pack'  He said, "hey, look there's a crayon named macaroni and cheese"  He must have got a tickle...because he kept saying it "I'm coloring with Macaroni and cheese'.  I didn't really respond because I was busy reading email or something...then I hear him say, "Mom just doesn't understand"...bahahahaha.  Love that kiddo;)
